The base of the burn wound has the characteristics of uneven height and irregular edges. The boundary between normal tissue and necrotic tissue is not clear, and it is often accompanied by refractory infection of multidrug-resistant bacteria. It is difficult to thoroughly debride the wound.

Taking deep second-degree burns as an example, there has always been a lack of a safe, efficient and standard wound treatment method. Commonly used methods of debridement are debridement with sharp instruments such as scabs, but these methods have certain limitations, such as large damage to healthy tissues, difficult treatment of complex wounds, and long operation time.
The Hydraknife is flexible in operation. It can remove necrotic tissue layer by layer in a single tangential increment of 50 um to 100 um. It has a certain tissue selectivity. It simultaneously sucks back the necrotic tissue while resecting, so as to retain healthy tissue as much as possible. When debridement of burn wounds on the head and face, hands, feet, armpits, groin and other areas with irregular shapes, uneven surfaces, and difficult for conventional debridement instruments to function, it can effectively shorten the operation time, reduce the risk of surgery, and improve the efficiency of debridement and skin grafting. Improve appearance and function after healing, and reduce patient mortality.
